RollPrune privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
RollPrune is a photo and video cleaner for Android by FightTech VN. It comes in two editions on Google Play:
- RollPrune (free edition, package `app.web.rollprune`): free, shows ads, with an optional one-time Pro unlock that also removes the ads.
- RollPrune Pro (paid edition, package `app.web.rollprunepro`): paid up front, no ads, no in-app purchases, no internet permission.
This policy explains what each edition does with your data. The short version: your photos and videos never leave your phone in either edition. RollPrune Pro sends nothing at all; the free edition uses Google's advertising service, described below.
What both editions read
- Your photos and videos (Android "Photos and videos" or storage permission, or only the photos you select on Android 14 and newer). RollPrune reads them to show them to you one by one, count how much of your library you have reviewed, sort them by date, size or name, and delete or move the ones you choose. Photos are decoded in memory on your phone to display them. They are never uploaded, copied to a server or shared with anyone, including advertisers.
- File information from Android's media library: name, folder, size, dimensions, dates and type. RollPrune stores this, together with your decisions (keep, delete, later, move), in a private database inside the app on your phone.
RollPrune does not read your location data from photos, contacts, messages, accounts or any other app's data. There is no account, no analytics of our own, no crash reporting and no server operated by us.
RollPrune Pro (paid edition)
RollPrune Pro has no internet permission: it cannot connect to the internet. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases and no third-party SDK. Nothing leaves your phone. The Trust center in the app checks and shows this on your phone.
RollPrune (free edition): advertising
The free edition shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) and asks for consent with Google's User Messaging Platform where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland). To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's SDK may collect and process:
- the device's advertising ID (Android "AD_ID" permission) and other device identifiers;
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system, language, app version and ad interactions;
- approximate location derived from the IP address;
- diagnostics, such as SDK crash and performance data.
This data is collected by Google, not by FightTech VN, and is sent encrypted. RollPrune never gives Google your photos, videos, file names or decisions. Depending on your consent and region, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. You can change your consent choice from the app's Settings (Privacy options, where offered), and you can reset or delete your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in Android's settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Google › Ads). Google's use of this data is described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and in Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
After the Pro unlock is bought, the free edition stops requesting ads. The free edition uses the internet only for these ads and for Google Play purchases.
Purchases (free edition)
The optional RollPrune Pro unlock in the free edition is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. RollPrune receives only a confirmation of the purchase from the Google Play app on your phone. It never sees your payment details. Google's privacy policy applies to the payment. RollPrune Pro (paid edition) is bought directly on Google Play like any paid app.
Deleting and moving
RollPrune changes your photos only when you tap Delete or Apply in your bin. On Android 11 and newer, Android asks you to confirm each batch, and deleted items go to Android's system trash first unless you choose permanent deletion. Copies in cloud services (for example a photo backup) are not touched.
Optional media management (Android 12+)
If you turn on "Media management" for RollPrune in Android's settings, Android lets RollPrune apply your bin without showing its own confirmation dialog. You still tap Delete in RollPrune first. You can turn it off at any time.
Backups
If Android backup is on, Android may back up RollPrune's decisions and settings (never your photos, which RollPrune does not copy). Purchases are restored from Google Play.
Deleting your data
Settings › Trust center › Delete app data removes RollPrune's database and settings from your phone (your photos and videos stay). Uninstalling the app removes everything RollPrune stored. Data collected by Google for ads in the free edition is governed by Google's policies; you can reset your advertising ID in Android's settings.
Children
RollPrune is not designed for children and is intended for users aged 13 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at the same address with a new date.
